RSPBA Summer School – The Diamond Class

The Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association is pleased to announce the dates for the upcoming 2022 Annual Summer School.

This event celebrates not only the return to ‘in person’ delivery following two years of restriction, but also a return to our beloved headquarters where the summer school had its home for many years.

The experience of running an online summer school in 2021 has meant that the school will take on a dual format this year. As well as an in person event, there will be an online summer school running alongside, allowing those students who wish to take part, but live at a great distance, to participate in the programme for the week.

The theme of the Summer School 2022 will be “The Diamond Class”. This is in recognition that 2022 commemorates sixty years since the Association launched its first venture into a standardised approach to teaching Piping and Pipe Band Drumming. This resulted in the production of what is now affectionately known as “The Blue Book”. So this year every student becomes part of “The Diamond Class”

The dates of the 2022 Summer School are:
In person event – Monday 25th July – Friday 29th of July
Online event – Monday 25th July – Thursday 28th of July

So SAVE THE DATE, and when booking opens, book early and your name will be entered into a PRIZE DRAW! If you are lucky enough to be selected, your tuition for the week will be free of charge.

Anyone who wishes to participate should contact Pat Whelan, RSPBA Education Officer on pat.whelan@rspba.org to register their interest.
