The RSPBA  Oceania Solo Drumming Championship 2024 – Results

Many thanks to the Royal New Zealand Pipe Band Association for hosting and Andante for sponsoring the competition on Saturday 29th June 2024. This was the fifth of the eight competitions which form part of the new RSPBA International Solo Drumming Circuit.

Results
Adult Oceania Snare Drumming Championship

  • 1st place – Steven Shedden Hawthorne Pipe Band
  • 2nd place – Scott Birrell Canterbury Caledonia Society
  • 3rd place – Douglas Bilsland Auckland & District
  • 4th place – Richard Black Hawthorne Pipe Band
  • 5th place – Georgia Eagle New Zealand Police
  • 6th place – Adam McCollum ILT City of Invercargill

The top two competitors are now qualified to enter the RSPBA World Solo Drumming Championship-Semi Final in October 2024. Also, the top six places secure points towards the 2024 RSPBA Adult World Solo Snare Drumming Champion of Champion title.

Juvenile Section 5 Oceania Snare Drumming Championship

  • 1st place – Connor Higgs Canterbury Caledonian Society
  • 2nd place – Peter Devery ILT City of Invercargill
  • 3rd place – Damon Wright The Scot’s School Albury
  • 4th place – Hayden Lam St Andrew’s College
  • 5th place – Kaitlyn Braithwaite Canterbury Caledonian Society
  • 6th place – Theo Lagias St Andrew’s College

The next circuit competition is the RSPBA British Championship on the 12th August 2024. The Competition will be hosted by the RSPBA Glasgow & West of Scotland Branch for Adult Solo Snare Drummers, College of Piping Otago Street Glasgow.
