The final RSPBA events of 2019 took place on Saturday 19th October at the Glasgow Caledonian University.

The annual Andante sponsored World Solo Drumming event as well as the International Solo Tenor competition drew large entries with 154 snare drummers and 59 tenor drummers traveling from all over the World.

Once again we would like to extend our thanks to Nigel Hodgen and his team at Andante for their continued support.

A huge thanks to RSPBA photographer Peter Hazzard for all his pictures on the day, Peter captured many competitors throughout the day as well as the prizes and those galleries will be available in the coming days.

The Adult event was won by Steven McWhirter (Inveraray and District - Scotland). Steven claimed his tenth Adult title after previous wins in 2006, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018. Steven won the event by 16 points winning both the MSR and Hornpipe and Jig events.  Second place again went to Gareth McLees (Field Marshal Montgomery) with Michael McKenna (St Laurence O'Toole - Eire) finishing in third place. The full event was recorded and the MSR and Hornpipe & Jig events can be viewed in playing order.

The Juvenile 1 March event won by Oliver Burbury (Dollar Academy). Juvenile 2 March event was won by Tiernan Kavanagh (Arklow - Eire). Juvenile 3 MSR event was won by Jamie Coffey (Major Sinclair Memorial). Juvenile 4 MSR event was won by Kerr McQuillan (Peoples Ford Boghall and Bathgate Caledonia) and Juvenile 5 MSR event was won by Cameron Lawson (Shotts and Dykehead Caledonia).

Being held on the same day and in the same venue was the International Juvenile Solo Tenor drumming event.

The Juvenile 1 March event won by Ewan Rieley (Burntisland and District). Juvenile 2 March event was won by Sophie Lewis (Burntisland and District). Juvenile 3 MSR was won by Eleanor Whyte (Turriff and District).
