Keith J Bowes is a prominent Piping Instructor, Assessor and performer. He succeeded his father, Keith A Bowes as Pipe Major of Johnstone Pipe Band in 2014, leading the band to significant achievements, including the 2015 and 2016 World Pipe Band Championships in Grade 2 and earning promotion to Grade 1.
He is the Pipe Major of the Renfrewshire Schools Pipe Band. They have several championship wins under his leadership including the World Pipe Band Championships in Nov B in 2023. He recently led a group of 40 young people to New York for Tartan Week in April 2025.
He has won several prestigious competitions, including the Scots Guards Knockout Competition, the SPA Former Winners MSR, the B-Grade Piobaireachd at Inveraray.
