Introducing Allan Craig – Lead Drummer
Allan Craig is currently the Pipe Band Drumming and Drum kit Music Instructor for Skye, Lochalsh and Lochaber schools.
Allan has over 40 years of experience playing in pipe bands and other types of bands including progressive rock/metal, pop and jazz genres.
Before moving to his current teaching position, Allan was Leading Drummer of the Grade One Band, Lomond & Clyde; where he won many band and drumming titles; including two World Drumming titles as Leading Drummer. He has also been Lead Drummer at the Grade One bands of 100 Pipers Whisky and Glasgow Skye pipe band; where he also won many band and drumming titles along the way.
He also had an illustrious band solo career where he has won many awards as a solo player in juvenile and adult level and made the final of the World Solo Drumming on many occasions where he obtained a top three position in the final.
Allan is a RSPBA Drumming Adjudicator and PDQB Assessor and holds the highest levels of certification in the RSPBA; which are Pipe Band Studies Levels One and Two.
Allan has been the Drumming Instructor for the RSPBA Summer School for over nine years now and has enjoyed his time teaching both kids and adults alike at the school.
He also has a wealth of experience teaching students and running workshops for different bands from all levels and abilities all over Europe over the last 20 years.
Allan also has a music studio at his home near Fort William where he records and mixes for artists from all over Europe on various music projects playing drum kit and mixing songs for them.
