The RSPBA was saddened to hear of the passing of DM Adjudicator Gloria Aicken.

Gloria started drum majoring at a young age, a hobby she shared with her older brother Alastair. She became a Juvenile World Champion in 1993 as well as winning numerous other prizes during her competitive career. Another notable highlight was her time as Drum Major with Field Marshal Montgomery Pipe Band.

After retiring from competition, Gloria became an adjudicator in 2007. She judged at both local and Major Championships. To judge the World Championships with her brother was always a memorable occasion.

Our thoughts are with Gloria’s family and friends at this sad time.
